Twitter has started a new initiative this year where they're releasing monthly key event calendars, highlighting all the important dates to keep in mind for your marketing over the next 30 days.
An important benefit of Twitter's monthly calendars is that they denote not only the events of most interest, but also their projected Twitter volume (based on past performance), which provides a great overview of where you should be paying attention in order to tap into trends.
Twitter has now released their May events calendar for reference.
As noted by Twitter:
"People will come to Twitter to watch the #KyDerby, check out the musical acts of the #BBMAs, and see who's winning The French Open. And with celebrations for Mother's Day, Ramadan, and Memorial Day, there are plenty of opportunities for your brand to show your personality on Twitter with relevant content."
There's some great events for brands to tap into here - National Small Business week is an obvious one, while the popularity of Eurovision grows every year. There's also, as Twitter notes, Mother's Day, which is a big one for shopping.
Even if you're not planning on using Twitter ads, it's worth keeping tabs on this calendar to ensure you're across all the coming events this month.
