Social Networks are communities of people, not television channels with a single program for everyone to watch at the same time. Social Networks allow people access a many different programs at the same time. You also have to consider the Facebook allows people to do a lot more then Twitter, which is just a micro-blog.

I found it very interesting that Twitter rated so low in social media web sites. I thought that Twitter would have scored higher than MySpace. With companies using new media for social networking I would have assumed that Twitter would have passed up MySpace but I am guessing that they're still new in the realm of social networking. I find that Twitter is a good resource for getting the message across. No surprise that Facebook and YouTube were on top.-CKR Interactive Intern

Just as an afterthought it's not clear whether these graphs represent time spent on site or using the platforms or what. Twitter will always be at a disadvantage with most social media metrics because of its reliance on third party apps. That said, the decline will continue and Twitter is simply going to be acquired or suffer financial problems.
