Social Advocacy & Politics: Looking for a Social Relationship
About Me: I am a sharp Harvard grad, but Texan through and through. I love to talk and am looking for a woman that loves to listen…
“One in ten Americans have used an online dating site…” begins the latest report from the Pew Internet & American Life Project. One in ten. Chances are someone you know met their wife or husband on a dating site. And, as you know, dating sites are the ultimate social networks.
One in ten… hmmmm. Ten percent of 535 are 53.5. If the rates hold true, then 53.5 Members of Congress have used a dating site (the .5 represents significant budget cuts; at least it was significant to the remaining .5… and perhaps the voters back home). That got me thinking about what those 53 (and the .5) wrote in their dating profiles.
About You: You are no RINO. Conservative to the core, you’d rather walk on the wild side without health insurance than be forced to buy the coverage you need.
My Perfect First Date: You, me, a bottle of spring water from my district and strawberries from yours.
What People Notice First About Me: That far away stare from my big blue eyes as I look up into the sky dreaming of Joan of Arc.
My Favorite Book: Tough one. I never actually read a book because the public library in my home town was shut down in order to save the money to pay for tax cuts.
OK, you get the picture. Some of these entries could be from YOUR representative.
Now here is your assignment: In the comments below write the dating site profile for YOUR favorite Member of Congress.
