On Social Media is Dead.

John,

You're right. When I blog I use a company called Zemanta to help with links and images.  When I originally wrote this post on my blog Christopherdessi.com I had even more links.  They don't have much rhyme nor reason.  Sometimes it take a reader to point out the obvious. I'll pay closer attention next time.  I'd love to read some of your posts for guidance.

Best,

Chris

Lindsey,

Thanks so much for the comment.  The issue is this - the average Facebook user is 40.5 yrs and 37 on Twitter (pingdom).  Social media isn't just for youg people. It's for people.

On 5 Steps to Super Charge Your Facebook Fan Engagement

Hi Sierra,

Thanks for the comment - I should have been more clear. The point of #2 isn't to have "a dozen people who just hit like because I asked them to LIKE in capital letters" it's to encourage businesses to feel comfortable directing their fans regarding what they should do with the content. At the end of the day we want engagement, but if we don't ask for it sometimes it falls flat.  Sorry if I was  unclear, and thanks again for stopping by to read my little post.

On Warning: Facebook's Promoted Posts Fall Flat

I agree - the execution of promoted posts seems slapdash at best.

On Warning: Facebook's Promoted Posts Fall Flat

Thanks so much for the well thought out comment.  Seems like I have some tweaking to do with these promoted posts.  For now - I think I'll just try to glean as much organic traffic as I can.  Bummer.

On Warning: Facebook's Promoted Posts Fall Flat

Jenny,

Hi! I'm very familiar with Engage 121.  You guys do a great job. In fact, I've sent quite a few leads over to your team and have invited your EVP Jack Serpa to join me on panel discussions.  I've even been to your offices in Norwalk. I love your videos too - well done!

I'm commenting on promoted posts - not ads. Two very different things.  I used Facebook ads to promote my own, and my clients pages - often ...and have had great success. I only reference them at the end of the post asking the reader to decide if the Indonesia likes came organically or through potentiall misguided ads. Thanks for the comment!

On Mark Zuckerberg Must Step Down as CEO of Facebook

I agree ...somewhat. In my book I put forth the manifesto that social media is more "spiritual awakening" than a technological one.  My argument is by no means against Facebook.  At times I'm TOO idealistic when it comes to social media. Really all I'm saying here is that perhaps there are people better suited to run Facebook (the publicly traded company) while Zuckerberg continues to innovate in a different capacity.  Seems like you're doing really good advocacy work in social media.  Keep it up - and thanks for dropping by to comment.  Greatly appreciate it.
