Interesting take on where Instagram is heading for next year. It is clear that visual media’s importance is only growing as most top brands are focusing efforts on their use of Instagram, as well as other platforms like Snapchat and Vine. While I agree with the premise that visual media will be “King” in 2014, I have to disagree that it will be all about Instagram. I see Snapchat as a huge threat to Instagram and Vine is another platform which marketers are learning to leverage with huge potential.
This article doesn’t really address why it will be Instagram, rather than these other two players, who will rise to the top in the coming year. Is there a particular reason why we should be paying attention to Instagram versus the visual web in general? Why will Instagram “win” over the other players in this space?
