Hi Nicki -
I know if you ask the folks at the casino, they will highlight security and the ability for you to dupe the dealers. This actually brings up an important aspect of engagement. The casino could take your pictures and provide them to you for free as a means to engage you. This way they capture your mobile / email as well.
I have an article I have planned for next week as a follow up with this one where I have interviewed some casino folks for their opinions as well.
Thanks,
Sundeep
JBA - great point.
One big issue that casinos are running into is that they are creating too much of a virtual reality. This, plus the ability to play remotely does little to sell rooms. The perfect antidote to this is the 'Paul Harvey' approach - a little teaser that leads them places.
A big challenge for most casinos is that they are still trying to figure out their strategy here.
Thanks again....
Jeremy,
You bring up a great point. A 'casino' can be a destination as there are so many facets and types of people they can appeal to. Ultimately, it comes down to engaging people with their interests.
A few of my friends who work for properties focus on games & wallpapers for web & mobile.
Thanks,
Sundeep
