Kellogs and the "cardboard" Kelly Holmes
Kelly Holmes, actually Dame Kelly Holmes, won 2 Gold medals at the Sydney Olympics for the UK and became a bit of a hero (though the recent Olympics and the UK performance have made her look less amazing).
So using her to endorse eating breakfast (a sort of social message) and then saying Kellogg's cereals are great must have seemed like a good idea to run around the Olympics.
I am sure she must have cost a packet. But sadly her acting is worse than a cardboard cut-out would have been making the ad painful and not at all compelling.
It just goes to show how important casting is to make an idea come alive. A simple idea made painful by her terrible acting...
