Occasionally I’ll catch some flak for championing studies that show email’s effectiveness to generate sales relative to social media.  Some people get pretty contentious with me about it (I just read these studies by the way, I don’t write them). So, I found it interesting that the top three things that Facebook Apps ask for are email, birthday and access to “Likes.” It seems that many businesses are seeing the importance of email to generate repeat sales, and I hope that as the evidence for this grows social media experts will be email experts as well.
