Survey Reveals Having Facebook Fans Tops SMB Wish List [INFOGRAPHIC]
When Staples asked business owners to select one marketing wish, Facebook prevailed.
The office and stationary supply giant recently surveyed 500 assorted businesses in an online poll, asking: "If you were given one wish to be granted, either a one-time Super Bowl Ad, a Facebook page with 2 million engaged fans, 2 million Twitter followers, or a one-time celebrity endorsement, which would you choose?"
The leading “wish” requested was a Facebook page with 2 million engaged fans, with almost half of all respondents (41%) choosing this option. Only 18% revealed they valued a one-time Super Bowl ad (18%) more than any of the other options.
And when it comes to growing business, the celebrity endorsement and Twitter follower options proved to be far less desireable.
The survey was part of a series Staples has launched to provide useful information for business owners during small business month. The company is unveiling valuable statistics about how social media is being used by small businesses and where they are seeing success.
The Staples poll also reveals:
- 40% of small businesses feel that their social media channel use has helped their business
- The most frequently mentioned goal for social media usage is engaging customers (50%), edging out increasing sales (46%) and showing another advanced approach to the long-term effects of social-media
- More than three-quarters of small businesses who were able to calculate business results from social media presence indicate that it has had a productive return for their business.
