Useful Marketing and Social Media Podcasts
I am a huge fan of podcasts. They provide a really convenient way to consume often detailed information, on the subjects that I care most about. In fact, i’d say that listening to podcasts is critical in helping me to stay on top of the latest trends, thinking and research in the world of marketing and social media.
As well as staying up to date, podcasts are also massively inspirational. With guest contributors talking about a wide variety of different topics, it is often easy to spot related tangents that I can then go on to explore in greater detail, through my own blog.
Unlike articles on websites where we often just dip in and out and skim read, I find podcasts much more involving and crucially, more convenient than reading articles. My life, like most people’s, is massively busy, so the ability to be able to consume marketing content whilst i’m on the go, in particular on my daily commute, is a real bonus for me. That doesn’t mean I limit my information sources to podcasts, but they are a hugely valuable resource to me and an essential part of my toolkit.
Below you will find some of the benefits of listening to podcasts, followed by a list of the marketing podcasts that I recommend and listen to regularly.
How Can Podcasts Help Content Marketers?
- They can be listened to passively, e.g. whilst doing other activities like driving, at the gym etc.
- A great source of inspiration for both content creation and content curation
- Stay up to date with the latest thinking and news in the areas that interest you
- Podcasts are highly portable, giving you lots of different listening methods
- Insight into the techniques that other businesses, peers or thought leaders are using
