Bio: I believe in ‘profitable creativity’. I am one of the co-founders of PinoyWriters, a group that launched bite-size mini-writing workshops back in the year 2000 and now turning its 11th year this September; along with my writer-editor friends, we envisioned to showcase the Filipino writing talent in the global arena via print and online writing opportunities. Also our group seeks to debunk the mindset of writers as ‘starving artists’. Over the years, I write about success stories believing in its potentialities to inspire and empower my readers. Most of my subjects are the small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs); highlighting their struggles and victories to create stories that leave meaningful impact to my intended audience. I wrote articles for Philippine Daily Inquirer, BusinessMirror, Star Studio magazine and various local and international, print and online publications. Though I may not be a theater practitioner, but I love theater. I was exposed to theater acting back in my primary years and I am from a kin of radio and stage talents back in Cebu. At the University San Carlos-South, I've shown more interest in writing when I reached my fifth grade as opposed to my first love, which is drawing. In high school, I was the youngest workshop participant at Ricardo Lee’s Writers’ Studio. With that, it propelled me to pursue creative writing at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City and majored in English at the Philippine Normal University, Taft, Manila. Today, I write reviews and press releases on movies as well as stage plays, books and literary pieces. I'm currently the content manager of an online concierge directory site, PhilippineParadisePages.com. I was the official publicist and media relations officer of the recently concluded Mr. Gay World 2011 here in Manila and now the publicist for Philippine Stagers Foundation (PSF), a fast-rising theater group, an Aliw awardee and at the same time a Ten Accomplished Youth Organization (T.A.Y.O.) awardee. In 2010, I started to publish an affirmative online magazine named PinoyBida that spotlights every GOOD is in the Philippines. As a writer, I believe that through the words I weave, I create an IMPACT. I believe that whether *spoken* or *written*, words do have power. They can preserve someone's dignity, or destroy someone's reputation, but they can also nourish the soul, heal the heart, uplift the spirit, and remind someone he or she is loved. That is how I see myself--as a writer it is not a mere life of privilege, but of hard service. What matters the most is the opportunity to CREATE, which I consider as the meat and potatoes of my *write* life and money is the gravy. If Manny Pacquiao punches to fight, Lea Salonga sings to delight, what I do is breathe and munch words to write!
