Title: President, Founder
— Bio —My name is David Katz and I am hoping to chat with you further about an online community (social network) called http://www.JackTheDonkey.com that I have recently launched. JackThedonkey.com is the community where your time online supports the charity of your choice as we donate 55% of all ad revenue generated by users' time on Jack to their choice of 21 charities from across the US and Canada. I've been told that this classifies me as a social entrepreneur (up until this week I have been telling people that I am a "for profit for the non-profits"). Like, Facebook, Myspace and Twitter, people can upload and view thoughts, pictures, and personal profile pages. Unlike the others, when you create a profile on JackTheDonkey.com, you also get to choose a charity to be the the beneficiary of your time on JackTheDonkey.com. The more you visit and interact with others, the more money JackTheDonkey.comdonates to the charity of your choice....it's free and easy and works out to 1.1 cents every impression....EVERY IMPRESSION. Attached is a copy of my first piece of press for your review: http://www.cjnews.com/images/stories/Heebonics/June_25_09.pdf Attached are also links to a couple reviews of Jack that were posted this week on a couple startup related sites: http://startupmeme.com/jackthedonkey-jacks-every-visit-of-yours-to-suppo... http://www.killerstartups.com/Social-Networking/jackthedonkey-com-suppor... The mission for Jack is to estabilish year round engagement with fundraising, activism and volunteerism on behalf of the charities. I believe that we are creating something that keeps users engaged in the virtual world, and that this engagement can be laddered up to more tangible support for the charities (be it through volunteering or perhaps making a more tangible donation directly to the charities). There are currently 21 charities from across Canada and the US (with the UK coming onboard shortly) that you can choose to support with your time online including: - Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation - Best Friends Animal Society - The ALS Society of Canada - Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation - Canadian Tire Jumpstart
