This post serves both as a reminder and an update – Valentine’s Day is coming up this week. So if you don’t have anything planned, time to start moving.
For the more digitally inclined, both Facebook and Twitter have released some new insights and options for the event.
First off, on Facebook – as usual, The Social Network will have a range of themed update options, including special Valentine’s Day update backgrounds.
And Valentine’s Day video masks for Facebook Stories.
Facebook will also send out reminders via the News Feed over the next few days to get you primed – which you can always hide if Valentine’s Day isn’t your thing – while there’ll be an additional option to send a digital card to your chosen contacts as well.
Over on Twitter, the platform’s business team has published a range of related usage stats to help businesses understand how they can get involved in the conversation – and why they should.
In terms of hashtags, the usual, popular Valentine’s Day tags will be in high rotation again. It may be worth tapping into these, though it’s hard to know what sort of traction your brand messaging will get, given their high usage rates.
There’ll also no doubt be themed updates coming for both Snapchat and Instagram, with Valentine-style features to help spruce up your messages.
For brands with a related angle, it’s definitely worth considering if, and how, you can incorporate these options into your strategy to help boost your marketing push.
