Facebook's research team have released the latest version of their Topics to Watch report, which looks at the issues which saw significant increases in mention volume in December.
Facebook launched their Topics to Watch Reports in April last year in order to highlight emerging trends which are gaining momentum across The Social Network, based on mention volume, velocity and other related engagement metrics. The idea behind this is that by identifying these growing trends, they can help marketers detect the next big thing, the next big trend that could boost their marketing efforts and give them an advantage by tapping into it early.
And it's worth paying attention to their data - Facebook's researchers say that 80% of the topics they've identified in this way have gone on to become more prominent trends.
So which topics are on the rise at the moment?
They may seem strange, they may not be big trends at the moment, but if any of these relate to your business, it may be worth looking to cover them in a blog post or incorporating them into your marketing moving forward.
