Lalisio Literature is the newest offering from the German team responsible for the Lalisio social network, formed in 2001, which connects professors and students in the sharing of gray literature and academic recommendations.
If you need to search for science and technology books, journal articles, or "open access" downloadable content, Lalisio Literature is the place to go.
Running a search for books about "Google," I found 84 book results, categorized by title, author, publisher, year published, and keywords. Clicking on a random title showed ISBN numbers, book format, language, and price comparisons to buy the book from Powell's, Amazon.com, AbeBooks.com, ecampus.com, or alibris.
Searching journal articles for "Google" yielded 258 results, including "Googled: the quest for visibility on the Internet," a research article from Learned Publishing on the trials of a small publishing firm specializing in scientific titles having trouble with search engine optimization. After clicking the link to "buy article" from IngentaConnect, I saw the 7-page article was free to download.
The "open access" search tab allows you to download applicable titles in PDF from partner databases arXiv and PubMed Central.
While the online repository is limited to about 2 million unique items of content, the database is quickly growing. If nothing else, you may find some content on Lalisio Literature that Google lacks.
