You know, reading the news, like Microsoft laying off 17% of it's workforce leads me to wonder what kind of 2009 many of us are going to have.
Personally, I think it's going to be challenging, but rewarding if you need to and can reinvent yourself. Actually, I found that when I didn't know what to do with feelings and ideas, I wrote and painted - especially painting - which for me, is different than writing in that much of Art is about what can't be said, what can't be expressed verbally, but which is felt.
And I did a painting the other day titled the Starfish of Hope
- let be hope for 2009, that it'll turn out to be a better year for us than 2008, and that whatever it does turn out to be, it'll lead us to positive things - stuff we need to pay attention to.

Which reminds me - that something that is often right in fount of us - can provide an innovative solution - provided we're in a state where we realize it (ie: see the possibilities).
One thing I don't think it ever occurred to me do is create a painting with Excel - apparently, some people do that - How to Create Art with Microsoft Excel - and I might wonder ... why bother - but it could very well be that you could do something a little different - like embed information in each cell of the spreadsheet.
Normally, this kind of information doesn't belong in a Web Analytics blog - but I was thinking that creativity is what we'll need a lot of in 2009, perhaps more than ever because the economy and job situation is so challenging for so many people that it's not enough to know how to use tools well - it may be that we'll need to use tools in new and different ways to thrive in 2009.
