Twitter has made it easier for people to share and discover new music by putting Ping activity, song previews and links to purchase and download music from the iTunes store right in their Tweets on Twitter.com.
Today Twitter announced that it will integrate Ping- Apple's social network for music inside iTunes. Twitter released a video that demonstrates how the integration makes the information network that Twitter has become, a better place for music discovery.
When a user posts and reviews in Ping, that review/post will be tweeted on the users' Twitter feed with links to the music on iTunes. When looking at the post on Twitter, the option of expanding the tweet let users play a preview of the song or shows a link to iTunes to buy it.
In addition, Ping users will be able to more easily find Ping accounts for their contacts on Twitter. According to the Wall Street Journal, "the new partnership could help Apple get more people to use Ping, which has faced criticism as a social network that just isn't very social. When it launched in September, it didn't include the ability to link to either of the big social-networking sites - Twitter and Facebook."
