2013 may have been filled with blockbuster movies coming out of Hollywood, but while tinsel town decided to stick to reboots and sequels, the advertising world got creative to make us laugh, cry, desire, reminisce and even watch in awe as a 53 year old puts us all to shame with his flexibility.
To create this infographic, Unmetric looked at all the brand videos that achieved over 15m views. In total, there were 25 brand videos that crossed this epic number, 5 of which were new product launches while the others were more brand building exercises. None of the product launch vidoes scored close to 100,000 Likes on YouTube while the GoPro video, which 'only' had 19m views was able to attract over 100,000 likes, making it one of the most engaging videos of 2013.
Another interesting point is that despite many of these defining videos of 2013 making it big on YouTube, the success didn't always translate across platforms which means there is an opportunity in 2014 for social media managers to make their campaigns even more tightly integrated.
