This week I moderated another Social Media Today webinar as part of their Best Thinker webinar series, this time on the topic of: Where Content Marketing Meets Customer Experience. This webinar was sponsored by Act-on Software and featured Jamie Turner (@AskJamieTurner), CEO, 60 Second Communications; Joyce Sullivan (@JoyceMSullivan), Founder/CEO, SocMediaFin, Inc.; and Nicole Kroese (@NicoleKroese), Marketing and Partnerships Director, Likeable Local. We discussed how brands can make wise content decisions to create a great experience for their customers.
Here are 3 of the key takeaways:
- Want to be remembered? - Get emotional! The data shows that if you can create an emotional connection with your audience your brand will be remembered, anything short of that and you run the chance of being white noise. Visuals can enhance your chances but they are second to emotional connections.
- Ask yourself - is this shareable? - Don't fall into the trap of creating great content but then skimping on the shareable content. Too many good pieces get low visibility because you haven't asked yourself, Would I share this if I saw it?
- Consider these 5 questions when creating content - Who are you / what do you stand for? What do you have to say? Who are you trying to reach? How do they want to be reached? Once you connect, what's your long term plan?
