Pinterest announced a new partnership with Nvidia that is designed to improve the app’s artificial intelligence-powered discovery processes.
Using Nvidia’s advanced hardware, the updated system will enable Pinterest to build in more AI elements with less infrastructure investment, ensuring better performance across the platform.
As explained by Pinterest: “Built on the NVIDIA accelerated computing platform with NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, NVIDIA Dynamo and Pinterest’s own visual embeddings, the new foundation gives Pinterest teams a shared way to build and launch multimodal AI products without creating custom infrastructure for each one.”
The updated process will power the next stage of Pinterest’s visual search via expanded content understanding and improved safety systems.
“With NVIDIA, Pinterest is turning 80 billion+ monthly searches into high-value signals for AI-powered discovery and shopping, enabling Pinterest Assistant to run 25x more visual context per request,” Pinterest said. “In benchmark testing, Pinterest saw average improvements of about 85x faster response startup and 7.3x faster overall latency when using precomputed visual representations instead of repeatedly processing raw images.”
The end result will be a more personalized, responsive AI-powered search process, allowing Pinterest to use more of its user data to maximize performance.
The new partnership is an expansion of Pinterest’s ongoing agreement with Nvidia. That deal establishes a long-term platform relationship intended to power the next generation of visual and conversational experiences across Pinterest.
