X has expanded the in-app search capabilities of its Grok Bot tool, which is now able to analyze X posts in order to provide trend insights, monitor brand mentions and uncover new opportunities.
The expanded functionality could be handy for social media managers who want to get a better understanding of X conversations related to their brands or niches. The system responds to conversational queries as a way to uncover relevant X insights.
As explained by X: “Ask it to track feedback on your product, follow a breaking story, or send a weekly roundup of your industry. Available for all users, with no need to set up the X connector.”
X has been promoting its Grok Bot agentic artificial intelligence option as being akin to a digital teammate that can undertake tasks on users’ behalf.
X said users can ask their Grok bots to oversee projects, provide context on key developments and request approval for tasks while operating in the background.
“Create a Bot, give it a task, and add another when the work grows — one on a project, one on outbound, one on systems,” X’s Grok Bots overview explained.
Agentic AI is the next big industry push, with developers viewing AI agents as the best way to utilize the power of AI to get things done and improve users’ lives.
In this specific context, Grok Bots could provide valuable consumer insights and help social media managers stay apprised of relevant conversations and mentions, similar to traditional media monitoring approaches, but in automated form.
Of course, the system relies on Grok’s capacity to identify pertinent conversations, which could be a big ask, depending on the requirements. But with access to the app’s full corpus of posts in the app, as well as keyword matching capacity, this may be worth an experiment.
Grok Bots are available for Cursor and Grok subscribers, with the base level Grok bots priced at around $20 per month.
